Alkaline cleaners

Whenever metals have to be prepared for additional process steps such as pretreatment, galvanising, coating, enamelling they first need to be thoroughly cleaned and degreased. This job is taken on by Henkel Surface Technologies' alkaline cleaners (low to high alkaline products) that are specially designed for the removal of oils, grease, oxides, pigments and polishing or grinding pastes. These cleaners are available as powder and/or liquid. They are suitable for the cleaning of substrates like steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, zinc, etc. as well as of multimetals. Henkel Surface Technologies' cleaners can be used in immersion and spray processes and are suitable for various temperatures.

Neutral cleaners

Neutral cleaners are suitable for the surface treatment of steel, cast iron, light metal alloys as well as non-ferrous metals. It is possible to have both cleaning and anticorrosive properties in one step. Products are available for both ambient and high temperature applications.

Cleaners with and without inorganic salts: • Liquid products that contain no inorganic salts and which leave no surface residues that may cause problems in the subsequent processing steps. • Liquid products containing inorganic salts that are better suited for aluminum substrates and whenever higher cleaning requirements are necessary. The low content of active organic ingredients means that the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) value of the waste water is minimal.

Acid cleaners

For the removal of oxidation, rust, or scale, Henkel Surface Technologies offers a complete range of acidic cleaning products for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Special products for the cleaning of additional substrates are also part of our portfolio.

Inhibitors and additives For concentrated acid solutions, we also can provide inhibitors/additives which can be used to control the rate of cleaning. Active ingredients to prolong the life time of the cleaning solution.

Emulsion cleaners

Anticorrosive products (oil-saturated) that form an emulsion in water are primarily used to clean slightly soiled surfaces (e.g. for the removal of metal cuttings and cooling lubricants) where the corrosion protection requirements are more demanding.

Ultrasonic and electrolytic cleaners

Degreasers intended for use in Ultrasonic or electrolytic cleaning equipment.

Paint Strippers

Reworking and/or refurbishing often requires the removal of paint or coatings before further chemical treatments are possible .
